When My son and I Got Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

When My Baby and I Got Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

A few months ago, while we were away in another city for a family wedding, my little boy suddenly became very unwell. He was only 8 months old at the time, and what started as a few small spots on his body quickly turned into a fever, runny nose, and extreme tiredness. He was so drowsy and clingy that he only wanted breastmilk — no solids, no water, just mama.

It turned out to be Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) — a highly contagious viral infection that mostly affects babies and young children. Despite its scary name, it’s usually not dangerous and clears up on its own, but the symptoms can be uncomfortable. The virus is spread easily through close contact, coughs, sneezes, or touching contaminated surfaces.

Natural Remedies That Helped Us and I believe will help the body for most viruses

I leaned on gentle, natural support to ease the symptoms and boost recovery. Here’s a list of what worked for us:

A Few Things I Learned from this experience

Hand, Foot and Mouth isn’t fun, but it reminded me again that our bodies are designed to heal. With prayer, natural support, and lots of cuddles, we got through it.
